Raising Men & Women Lawn Care

Ark Charity Review

Why Ark Institute selected this charity

Raising Men & Women Lawn Cares Services sets a good example for what one person can do on their own, and shows that you don’t need a big bureaucratic organization to be effective and inspiring. The Founder Rodney Smith Jr. reaches young people from all backgrounds, across a wide geographic area, on a low overhead budget.

How this charity aligns with our goals

Raising Men and Women Lawn Care provides an opportunity for young people who participate, to take initiative and work independently, learn new skills, and build confidence while providing a valuable service for free to their elderly, disabled, single parent, and veteran neighbors.

What was the process of approving this charity

Raising Men and Women Lawn Care is a good example what our 2nd Gate stands for: “The Organization must build the subject, not buy the subject. A charity gives, an Arkitect builds.” Rodney doesn’t give money to the young people. He gives them tools and experience to accomplish good in the world, experiences that they will use for the rest of their lives.

Mission Statement

Making a difference one lawn at a time! Raising Men & Women Lawn Care Service inspires our youth (boys and girls) to provide free lawn care to our elders, those who are disabled, single mothers and our veterans, who do not have the time, resources and/or money to take care of their yards. Youth who complete a 50 yard challenge are eligible for a new mower, weed eater, and blower (along with colored shirts for each tier of 10 yards).

Putting the Care back in lawn care

Raising Men & Women Lawn Care Service is the union of an ordinary yard maintenance service and the commitment to establish an inspiring program to keep our youth (girls & boys) on a positive path while learning and understanding their value in society. RMLCS/RWLCS provides free lawn care to our elders, those who are disabled, single mothers and our veterans, who do not have the time, resources and/or money to take care of their yards.
